Main Surgery: Branch Surgery: Ramsbury Surgery Wanborough Surgery Whittonditch Road 3-5 Ham Road Ramsbury Wanborough Marlborough Swindon Wiltshire Wiltshire SN8 2QT SN4 0DF Ramsbury & Wanborough Practice is a rural practice in Wiltshire near the Wiltshire/Berkshire border. We are a busy dispensing practice and dispense from both surgeries. Overall we dispense to approximately 96% of our patients. The surgery is fully computerised at both sites and is linked electronically for registration of patients and pathology results. We are open from Monday – Friday 0830 – 1830 and on a Saturday morning from 0900 – 1100, and our Wanborough branch surgery is open Monday – Friday 0830 – 1200, 1630 – 1830 and on a Saturday morning from 0900 – 1000. Practice GP Partners Dr Rodney Owen-Jones MB BS LRCP MRCS MRCGP DRCOG The Royal Free Hospital, London. Qualified in 1977 and joined the Practice in 1983. Dr Rosemary Symon MB BS MRCGP DRCOG St Thomas’ Hospital, London. Qualified in 1980 and joined the Practice in 1988. Dr Jonathan Rayner MB BS DCH D.OCCMED The Royal London Hospital. Qualified in 1983 and joined the Practice in 1991. Dr Graham Muller MB BCh MRCGP Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg. Qualified in 1988 and joined the Practice in 1995. Dr Zoë Wardley MB BS, MRCGP, DRCOG, DGM, DFFP, BSc (Hons.) Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, London. Qualified in 1999 and joined the Practice 2004. Practice Population We have a list size of approximately 8100 with a relatively high proportion of elderly patients. The practice is responsible for 3 local nursing homes. Practice Nurses We have a Nursing team who work from both surgeries. They are available by appointment for general nursing services, immunisations for travel, disease prevention, cervical smears and regular chronic disease clinics. All patients, especially those aged over 40, are encouraged to have a regular Well Person Check with the Practice Nurse. Health Care Assistant The Health Care Assistant works alongside the Practice Nurses and is available by appointment for blood tests, blood pressure checks, Well Person checks, ECGs, new patient medicals, audiograms, flu and pneumonia injections. Attached Staff District Nurses Health Visitor Community Midwife Practice Counsellor Training Practice Ramsbury & Wanborough Surgery has become a recognised training practice. Dr Rosemary Symon is our GP trainer within the practice. Whilst we have GP Registrars within the practice, we also receive medical student placements from Bristol and Oxford throughout the year. We have also recently registered to take an Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) placement in 2008.
